The way I eventually found this to work best for a sit down listen was to hear out all four pieces of each song alone, THEN to try and hear them all together. This results in hearing a cool toned down version of the main song and usually three moody near ambient instrumentals. Some of the tracks this even results in what sound like related but independent pieces of music rather than just stuff that doesn't work on it's own. As much as building it up this is also a chance to build down if you want. Who says you have to hear all four? How about just three? Or even two? Which pieces you want is up to you entirely, and it changes songs from simple acousticish stuff to many layered fuzz symphonies! Have it your way!
